Amateur Radio

Amateur Radio has been around since the first discovery of radio in the last century. Its early pioneers were responsible for many of the discoveries and innovations that took place in those early days and many became leaders in the professional world of broadcasting and communications.
They and their successors designed, built and maintained their own equipment. After the Second World War large quantities of surplus wireless equipment became available and this was eagerly snapped up by Amateurs and modified for their own use. (It is interesting to note that much of the stalwart radio equipment used in WWII was originally designed for pre-war amateur use in the first place!)

Latterly from the 1970’s onward the Radio Equipment in use has become increasingly complex, being driven by the designs coming from the Far East, and as a result the average amateur no longer wishes, or is able to maintain this highly sophisticated equipment. We have the skills and expertise to do this maintenance and offer a competitive rate for this service.

We will give a preliminary estimate free (excluding carriage costs) on your rig and give an honest report on the viability of the repair cost. At all times we will keep you informed of the status of your repair and should it be necessary, any further costs that may be found whilst the work is in progress so that you do not finish up with a large unexpected bill. Our aim is to give a quality repair service at an economic price. All work is warranted (with certain exceptions. i.e. Using a Transistor P.A. at full output into a mismatched load to warm your shack is definitely not) and problems will be speedily resolved. Please feel free to contact us and discuss any problems you have using the enquiry form or the other contact details on this site.
